Fernbrook Studio started in 2016 as a two-person operation working out of a converted garage, taking on small identity projects for local shops. A decade on, the workshop has grown, but the approach hasn't changed much: we still take on a small number of projects at a time, and we still believe the best work comes from genuinely understanding a business before opening a design file.

Every project starts with a conversation, not a questionnaire. We want to know what keeps a business owner up at night, not just their brand colours. From there, we build out a small, focused set of design directions rather than dozens of options — we'd rather spend that time refining one strong idea than spreading effort thin across many weak ones.
Design that still looks right in ten years, not just ten weeks.
The best design decision is often the one you don't notice.
Small details, done properly, compound into something that feels considered.
We'd rather tell a client an idea isn't working than let it slide through.
